What's all this?

This house is part of a neighbourhood Easter walkabout, and you are welcome to join in!

Already on the trail?

This is the first house on the Bearwood trail, so you're in the right place! Click below for short intro and the first witness!

Use the instructions below to find the 2nd house. This will be the longest and best part of the walkabout...

As you leave 186 Lightwoods Hill, head off down the hill.

Pass a bus stop. Can you see what number buses stop here?

You’ll see the car park entrance to Warley Woods on your left. What colour flag is flying outside?

Continue on down the hill and cross over Beechwood Road. Then cross over Lightwoods Hill and enter Warley Woods through the pedestrian gate. Walk straight ahead down the main path. Look out and listen for birds, particularly the bright green parakeets that live here. Also see if you can spot any squirrels and count the dogs that you see.

Continue on down the path. You’ll go past some benches. How many can you see?

Pass the old drinking fountain on the left and you’ll come to the play area. Can you spot bears in the play area? How many are there? This is Bearwood after all! Can you think of names for them?

Leave Warley Woods through the gate at the bottom of the path, turn right and head on up Abbey Road with the Woods on your right. Can you climb on the tree stumps and walk along the logs on the way up the road?

As you continue up Abbey road look for a house with a Sun and a moon on it. You’ll soon see Abbey Junior School on your right. What colour are the tall railings around it?

Cross over Barclay Road and continue downhill now on Abbey Road. Keep your eyes open for any rainbows or Easter decorations in windows.

Turn first right at a bright red postbox onto Galton Road, cross over Galton Road and walk along it for a short distance and you will see your next house, 269 Galton Road. Scan the QR code!

scan the new qr code when you get there, or click here.
