What's all this?

This house is part of a neighbourhood Easter walkabout, and you are welcome to join in!

Watch this video below to find out more...

Already on the trail?

This is the last house on the Bearwood trail. The trail is best followed in order, and the first house on this trail is 168 Lightwoods Hill, B67 5EH, which is about 15 minutes' walk from here. The others are much closer, though, so if you're on foot, and don't want to walk back to the start, click here and scroll down to see the first witness video, and pick up the trail at 269 Galton Road B67 5JJ instead. If you've already done the first 5 houses, well done! Click below for the last witness! Or should we say, witnesses?!

You made it!

If you have arrived in time, there should be a small goody bag for children in a storage box near to where you are standing. For Covid safety purposes, please follow these guidelines:

1. Sanitise your hands before opening the box.

2. Touch only the bags that you are taking out, one per participating child.

3. Close the lid firmly, and replace the hand sanitiser on top of the box.

4. Do not share food outside of your household or bubble.

Ingredients and allergy advice on the sweets contained in the goody bags is available here.

Thank you!

Home!? You're done! We hope you enjoyed it! If you want to find your way back to the start of the trail, please use the map or the instructions below!

Carry on along Herbert Road towards the bus station. Can you see any buses in there?

You now have 2 options. You can either turn right at the end and walk straight up Atkins Lane which becomes Lightwoods Hill and will take you back to the start.

The other option is more interesting as you can wander through Lightwoods Park. You can enter the park by walking straight over Atkins Lane and around the right side of the bus station. You will see an entrance through a gate to the park.

Walk ahead, you will see a walled garden on your right. Can you see who it is named after? You’ll then pass Lightwoods House (time for a takeaway coffee, mum and dad?)

Just outside Lightwoods House is the home of another Bearwood bear, can you see his name on the plaque? There are lots of landmarks of Bearwood painted on the bear. See if you can spot any that you have seen today on your walk.

Continue on straight up the main path, you’ll pass the skate park and play area on your left and you may spot the bandstand on your right.

Walk up the hill through the park and cross over Galton Road and continue on the path through the extension of the park.

Turn right at the top down a tree lined path. Look out for the beautiful spring blossom here. You’ll see Warley Woods ahead of you. Turn left at the end of this path and you are on Lightwoods Hill again. You’ll need to head up the hill, crossing Beechwood Road and making your way back to your starting point.
