Craig was born and raised in the Midlands, and moved back here in 2017 as our Assistant Pastor. As well as preaching and leading in the church, he also oversees the student ministry.
Craig trained and worked for a while as an engineer, but about ten years ago he started spending his time helping students to know our awesome God better. What he loves best about his job is seeing people get excited about who Jesus is, and his amazing heart for us (though his ears still prick up if you start talking about bikes or anything geeky).
He’s married to Heather, and much of their ‘spare’ time is occupied with their three children, in a fruitless attempt to stop them getting a Brummie accent. They’ll keep trying.

Claire KENDREW-jONES

Claire moved to Birmingham in 2017 to work for City Church and has been the student worker since September 2021! Claire loves good coffee, gluten free baking and hanging out with her little nieces and nephews.
Claire was brought up in Northern Ireland and came to know Jesus personally at a summer holiday club when she was seven, when she first understood her need for a Saviour. Her favourite part of her job is talking to people about Jesus and exploring the Bible with them (especially over a cuppa)!

Ben has just finished a four-year degree in piano performance at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He enjoys making music, reading, and watching friends climb trees.

Caleb has just finished studying Maths at the University of Birmingham. He's originally from Bedfordshire but has lived in Birmingham for the 3 years of his degree. Some hobbies he has are; climbing, watching and playing football (although it seems to be a lot more watching these days), and just relaxing whilst watching tv or playing PlayStation.
The Student Team
A number of the church family come along to Student Plus, week by week, and love investing in and getting to know students. Some of the team used to be students in Birmingham themselves, some of them just love hanging out with students. All of them are passionate about helping you become part of the family at City Church and growing in your love for Jesus during your time at University.
You'll find them leading Bible studies at Student Plus, dishing out curry at our curry nights, making fools of themselves at the Student Weekend Away or chatting to you on the phone or in a coffee shop to encourage you during a busy week. We love the Student Plus team and we think you will too!
